MEET OUR TEAM
Our team of attorneys at Groth & Associates brings over 100 years of combined legal experience and a passion for helping clients achieve justice, compensation, and legal solutions for their families.
Stevin J. Groth, originally from Davis, California established Groth and Associates in 2001. Prior to that he was an Assistant Lucas County (Ohio) Prosecutor, handling felony criminal and civil matters for the Lucas County Commissioners and their Agencies. After that experience, he was a founding partner with a mid-sized general practice law firm in Toledo.
He is licensed in Ohio, and in the Northern and Southern United States District Courts of Ohio, as well as the Southern District of Michigan. He has successfully handled complex matters in Ohio, Michigan, Indiana, and California.
Stevin is a member of the National Association of Criminal Defense Attorneys, the Ohio Academy of Justice, the Ohio State Bar Association, the Lucas County Bar, the Wood County Bar, the Ohio Association of Criminal Defense Attorneys and many other community related organizations.
Allison grew up in Toledo, attending and graduating from Catholic schools locally. She is well known in both the legal community and the community at large, with a strong network.
Steven Crossmock has been an attorney licensed since 1989. He has practiced in the Northwest, Ohio area since being admitted to the Ohio Bar. His practice has concentrated in the areas of representing injured people and defending the rights of the accused.
Steven is currently licensed in Ohio as well as the Federal Court for the Northern District of Ohio. Steven has been admitted and represented clients in the States of Michigan, Indiana, Pennsylvania, Kentucky, Tennessee and Kansas. He has briefed cases before the Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals. Steven has authored Friends of the Court (Amicus) for cases pending in the Ohio Supreme Court. Steven has orally argued cases in front of the Ohio Supreme Court.
Hank Schaefer is a native of Toledo, Ohio. He graduated from the University of Toledo School of law in 2008. He is licensed in Ohio and has been practicing law for over ten years.
Joshua E. Williams joined Groth and Associates in 2016 as an intern. He continued to work at Groth and Associates as a criminal defense paralegal and trial specialist while he pursued his undergraduate degree.
Joshua grew up in Toledo, attending Roy C. Start High School and the University of Toledo. While attending UT, Joshua earned his A.A.S. and B.S. in paralegal studies where he specialized in litigation and trial practice. Joshua was then a law clerk for Groth and Associates as he attended the University of Toledo College of Law, where he earned a full academic scholarship.
While attending UT Law, Joshua represented his law school for two consecutive years in the Ohio Attorney General’s mock trial competition where he took home top honors of best witness and best attorney in 2019.
